PETA punch

“PETA has paid internships! E-mail me if you’re interested,” read a post-it note a professor stuck on a PETA packet and posted on a bulletin board in Waters Hall this week. It’s reasons like this that producers need to tell their side of the story. Sometimes in small communities, it’s easy to forget that there highly funded, professionally staffed organizations such as PETA and the Sierra Club that would like nothing more than to end animal agriculture. The fact that this was posted at Kansas State University in the same building that houses many agriculture offices and classrooms was a big reminder for me. Agriculture enthusiasts need to actively compete with these organizations for public opinion. An easy first step is to follow this link to a petition to have PETA’s tax-exemption status removed.
