It’s no secret that farming and ranching is a hard business to get into if you didn’t grow up on an operation. The initial investment can be overwhelming. At the same time, the average age of American farmers and ranchers is continuing to raise as children are deciding not to return to the family farm. Now, new producers in New Hampshire are getting some help from the United States Department of Agriculture Farm Service Agency (FSA), the New Hampshire Department of Agriculture, Markets & Food, Yankee Farm Credit, and First Pioneer Farm Credit.
