Farmers new job is P.R.

The keynote speaker at the Maryland Dairy Convention focused her comments on the importance of farmers and ranchers telling their personal stories to the American public. Wisconsin Dairy Producer Liz Doornink is concerned about the lack of understanding the public has about agriculture and wants producers to bridge that gap.
“In order to save our industry, save our right to production choices and save our consumer, we need to tell our story. Your story and your voice are important. In order for my children to become fifth-generation dairy producers, I need to ensure that our country understands what we do, how we do it and why we do it,” Doornink said.
