The HBO special “Death On a Factory Farm” airs tonight and it’s not supposed to paint a pretty picture for agriculture. Early reports say the documentary includes some pretty gut wrenching animal abuse scenes. However, producers can make the best out of a bad situation by using this documentary as a chance to start a conversation in their communities about what agriculture is really all about.
“The potential reaction following the release presents an opportunity for producers to educate audiences on animal welfare issues and to build understanding of and support for today’s dairy production practices,” said Charlie Arnot of the Center of Food Integrity.
